When it comes to drug dealers in Cavan and Monaghan, we are losing the fight.
That's according to local TD Deputy Niamh Smyth who raised the issue with the Garda Commissioner Drew Harris.
Mr Harris was before the Oireachtas Justice Committee yesterday afternoon, where the local Fianna Fail TD called on his to supply further resources for the Cavan Monaghan Garda Drugs unit.
Deputy Smyth raised what she called was an epidemic in this region and called on the commissioner for more gardai locally and to also supply more gardai for the local drugs units in the two counties. Deputy Smyth says people want to see gardai on the streets and the serious problem with drugs locally needs to be addressed.
