A local TD has called for the Department of Health to undertake an international recruitment campaign for healthcare professionals.
Deputy Brendan Smith says there is a particular need for therapists and that local advocacy groups are "anxious" that additional therapists be recruited.
The Fianna Fáil TD added that these "therapists are not available in this country or on the neighbouring island" and that the local "groups have been strong advocates for recruiting internationally".
