Cavan-Monaghan TD Pauline Tully asked the Minister for State for children and disability to take action now, to avert a crisis in Child Disability Network Teams, later.
The Sinn Féin spokesperson on disability addressed TD Anne Rabbitte directly during a Dáil debate during the week.
Deputy Tully said CDNT staff have already "stated their concerns over safety, governance, risk management and career progression and the erosion of professional autonomy."
She added that staff are "not working at the moment" despite "being completely understaffed" and claimed this is because so much of their time is taken up talking to "irate families" who want to know why their children
are not getting the services they require.
Pauline Tully added that the gaps in service now is "creating a level of dependency on the state further down the line":
