A local TD has called for unused or closed venues in Cavan and Monaghan to be used as mass vaccination centres.
A spokesperson told Northern Sound News that a number of third-party facilities in the region are currently being investigated to be used to administer doses, when the vaccination programme advances including sports halls, third level colleges, hotels and conference centres.
Minister Stephen Donnelly today confirmed that 34 centres would be opened nationally in mid- March by the HSE.
