SOSAD has six offices, based in Cavan, Louth, Meath, Monaghan and Laois. Up to October the organisation had seen 1,600 individual clients and delivered 18,000 counselling sessions.
This year, SOSAD has delivered 21,402 hours of free counselling- up 20.43% from last year. Deputy Mark Ward is Sinn Féin's spokesperson for Mental Health and he says he was informed that SOSAD would have to close their doors this year, due to funding issues.

SOSAD also offer support and services for people who are struggling with suicidal ideation, self-harm, depression, bereavement, stress and anxiety. Deputy Ward said it was important to say that the SOSAD service remains open and whoever needs there services should reach out to them.
