A local Suicide Bereavement Group is reaching out to families and friends who lost someone to suicide.
The Cavan Suicide Bereavement Support Group works with local families, but has had to postpone meetings because of restrictions.
Carol Milton is the facilitator of the group, and having been bereaved by suicide herself 18 years ago says groups like this offer so much kindness, and gentle support without judgment.
She highlighted the need for such a group in the region due to the stark statistics on suicide locally, and says they hope to recommence meetings once restrictions ease.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound Carol said that the support available has improved drastically in the past 18 years and that she is grateful to be part of the Cavan group:
