Four students in Kingscourt and Carrickmacross were presented with a college scholarship from Gyproc Saint Gobain earlier today.
It’s the first year that the programme has offered scholarships to local students which aims to help, encourage and support students entering third-level education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
Presentations were made this morning at Colaiste Dun an Ri in Kingscourt and Inver College in Carrickmacross to the recipients.
Grace Marron and Aaron Woods were named the recipients at Inver College, while Ryan Lockwood and Alex O Reilly received the scholarships at Colaiste Dun an Ri.
The programme will cover the four students' college fees, as well as provide them with mentoring support and a graduate programme opportunity in the company.
Bursaries were also given to three students at each of the local schools to help cover costs associated with attending the first year of college for the recipients that were selected.
Colaiste Dun an Ri, Principal Fergal Boyle says the programme gives meaningful support to the students and its great that Gyproc Saint Gobain gives great support to the school,
