A group of local students presented their award winning display to Cavan County Council in recent days.
Pupils of Mullahoran N.S recently took top honours in the Microsoft Dreamspace competition, winning the Department of Rural and COmmunity Development rural innovation award.
Their project, titled "Into the Future: Innovations for GAA park", aimed to enhance Mullahoran GAA Park and set a new standard for energy efficiency and inclusivity.
Included in the model was a Neopixel lighting system, powered by eight solar panels on the clubhouse roof, a viewcam car, which provides a virtual view of football matches, viewable from a sensory room, and a Virtual Football Game, coded by the students themselves.
The judges at Microsoft dreamspace awarded them top prize, and cathaoirleach of the council TP O'Reilly congratuled them on the achievement
Cllr Phillip Brady jokingly remarked that the football game was coded so that Mullahoran would always win.
