Niko Kawonczyk a 22 year old student who hails from Co Monaghan and has family roots in Poland says the student accommodation crisis is worsening.
As the new academic year is set to begin the local man has been sharing his experience of college life has been like and it all centers around accommodation or the lack of it. He says he had to work through the night while he studied to pay for his rent and that was when he found a place to live six months after he initiated his search.
Niko said he would work all night and have to go straight into college all just to pay his accommodation. He said that at the moment prices vary from €800 for a room without an ensuite up to €2,000 in the capital for accommodation for a student. The Monaghan man says as we head into a new college years things are only going one way when it comes to housing.
