A local Sinn Fein TD says cutting childcare costs is an investment in the future.
The party says its plan, which was brought before the Dáil today, would see the State pay staff wages and in exchange fees would be cut by two thirds.
It's calling on the government to invest an extra 267 million euro in childcare to cut costs for parents.
