A Monaghan Senator says Bus Éireann will continue to lose business until it introduces an online booking system for people with a free-travel pass.
A spokesperson for the operator said that a system linked to the Department of Social Welfare is being trialled in 2021 which will allow those who have a pass to reserve a seat online.
It comes following complaints that the limited bus services in Cavan and Monaghan are being compounded by the fact some people are being left stranded because the bus is often at capacity before it makes it to the region.
Robbie Gallagher says people won’t wait until next summer to see changes in the booking system.
