The opening hours of Monaghan Minor Injuries Unit have been extended from 8am to 8pm since the 1st of November.
Senator Robbie Gallagher says Monaghan General Hospital will support the expansion within the unit by recruiting appropriate healthcare professional staff as part of the Winter Plan.
He says the plan is to eventually open the minor injuries unit at weekends as well.

The local Senator says the move will target improved management, treatment and egress of patients presenting with minor injuries.
He added he will continue his campaign to maintain and raise the profile of the Minor Injury Unit in Monaghan and highlighted the potential at Monaghan Hospital for future service delivery.
