Schools from across Cavan and Monaghan were represented at a recent agri competition in Croke Park.
The Certified Irish Angus Competition, challenges students to learn about the care and attention required to produce quality beef.
A number of local schools entered the event, including St Macartan's and St Louis secondary schools in Monaghan, and Colaiste Dun na Ri and Virginia College in Cavan.
From the 35 schools that attended Croke Park, the five best finalists who demonstrated an understanding of the project will each be presented an Irish Angus calf at the Ploughing Championships in September.
They'll rear their calves to determine the overall winner.
