The government approved extra quarantine measures for people coming from the UK yesterday.

Cavan and Monaghan are unlikely to be at an increased risk if people use the border as a way to dodge travel restrictions from the UK.

The government approved extra quarantine measures for people coming from the UK yesterday, following concerns over the Delta variant.

Unvaccinated people will have to quarantine for ten days at home with negative tests on the fifth and tenth days.

Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound, Immunology Professor Tomas Ryan says some already have and will continue to use the Irish border as a way around restrictions, but this shouldn't lead to a spike in infection locally.
