A Monaghan publican says UK electricity caps will have an effect on all pubs along the border.
Brian Renaghan of Renaghan's Pub in Clontibret has called on Government support in relation to increasing energy costs.
Speaking to Northern Sound, the local businessman previously paid €600 per month on his electricity bill, however last month his electricity bill came to a total of just over €2,250.
As a result of soaring costs, with little intervention from Government according to Brian, the Monaghan pub-owner believes many border pubs will not see Christmas yet alone survive the winter.
