Four local energy projects are to receive funding under the Renewable Energy Support Scheme.
€1.4 billion is being invested in the plan which will help areas transition to greener energy.
84 projects across the country are to share in funding, with four of those in the Shannonside Northern Sound region.

Grian Pv Longford Ltd has been given the go ahead for the Cleggill Solar Park. It's the only solar project in the region planned under the scheme.
Separately, the Coolberrin Wind Farm in Monaghan has also been successful, as Derm Energy's wind farm in Roxborough in Roscommon.
The largest project locally, the Taghart Wind Farm in Cavan, has also been given approval.
