A 20 year lease agreement between Monaghan County Council and Castleblayney Community Enterprise has been confirmed in recent weeks for 'The Ridge' Enterprise Centre on McGrath Road, Drumillard, Castleblayney.
The Ridge was officially opened last Friday by Minister Heather Humphreys and the Muckno Park in the town was officially opened also by the local minister.
The four-level, 842 square metre facility will act as an enterprise and technology hub and a remote working centre.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cathaoirleach of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney Municipal District, Aidan Campbell welcomed developments for the wider Castleblayney area. He added that the The Ridge development will bring major benefits to the local town.
Meanwhile, Cllr Campbell also highlighted that close to €7 million has been allocated to various projects in the Castleblayney area, including Lough Muck.
"We received shy of €4 million for The Ridge project," explained Cllr Campbell. "It's finished now and it's occupied. Monaghan County Council owns the building, while the Castleblayney Enterprise centre is leasing it out and in charge of getting tenants.
"We're well on our way to getting tenants in, already one company has taken over one complete for. It's a great development for Castleblayney, it's all about driving the local economy and creating jobs."
