A local cyclist who has this week signed as a professional with the X Speed United team has made a plea for motorists to be more mindful of cyclists when on the road.
Leo Doyle from Cavan will be moving to central Europe in the New Year as part of his professional career. However in the meantime, he continues to train regularly on local roads and is asking for motorists to give due care and attention to those that are cycling. Speaking to Northern Sound, Lee said it is important for motorists to be aware of cyclists using rural roads, especially during darker winter
evenings. He added that slowing down "won't ruin your day" and that it is imperative to reduce the risk of road injuries and fatalities:
