The return of Leaving Cert students to the classroom this week has been the "biggest highlight" of the academic year so far.
That's according to Martha Lievens, who is the Principal of Bailieborough Community School in Cavan.
Yesterday, they welcomed back Leaving Cert students to the classroom, with special educational needs classes having returned the week previous.
Nationwide, 320,000 students, including the first four years of primary education, returned to school.
Ms Lievens paid tribute to the students and staff for showing "resilience and flexibility" in adapting to the changes needed to get schools re-opened.
