The Chair of Monaghan IFA says a lack of progress in increasing poultry prices means further protesting could be "futile".
The IFA is warning that supermarket shelves could go empty if farmers are forced to stop producing.
Negotiations have been taking place with processors and egg packers as part of the IFA campaign to recover farmers' costs from the marketplace.
The group said producers cannot get any more credit and cannot afford to pay their energy or feed bills.
