Poultry farmers across Monaghan and Cavan can breathe a sigh of relief following a negative test result from a farm suspected of being infected with bird flu.
Tests results came back negative on samples taken from a poultry farm at the centre of a Bird Flu alert in County Monaghan.
The potential case was detected in a flock of 45,000 laying hens in an enriched cage system in Scotstown.
Bird Flu doesn't recognise any borders, that's the message from one West Cavan poultry farmer.
Garret Bannan who farms 20,000 free range hens in Bawnboy says the disease holds no discrimination against anyone.
He says livelihoods are on the line especially across Cavan and Monaghan.
