People in Co Monaghan have been reminded to have realistic expectations around downsizing.
At a recent County Council meeting, Sinn Féin's Pat Treanor asked what the Local Authority's policy was around downsizing.
Director of Housing, John Murray, said "some people's expectations on downsizing are unrealistic".
Mr Murray says the Council's "greatest need is for smaller, not bigger units" and that some people are "looking to sell units in place for a smaller one that there is a bigger demand for".
While the Director of Housing stressed that this is not happening, he said it "highlights some of the issues in downsizing" and the "misplaced expectations".
