Up on 1,750 homes, businesses and farms across the region remain without power this evening.
1,250 are in Cavan and 500 are located across Co Monaghan.
One of the worst areas locally impacted by Storm Eowyn is West Cavan almost two weeks on. Ronan Gargan travelled to a number of areas across West Cavan to meet with locals to hear about their daily struggles.
The impact of Storm Eowyn is evident across the region but nowhere more that in rural West Cavan. The hum of generators can be heard across the rugged landscape from the likes of Corlough, Swanlinbar and Blacklion.
100's of homes here remain without power as almost two weeks approach since the historic storm happened. Community hubs are continuing to operate here allowing people to get hot food, tea, coffee, and power for their devices.
For some, this has been the only access to somewhere warm and somewhere to charge devices. One of them hubs is Trivia House in Swanlinbar and the manager of the facility is Tony McGovern. He said the people in wider are feel like the forgotten people.
Ronan travelled through a few kilometres down to road to just outside Corlough and met with Fiona Gerring.
Fiona has a small farm just outside the village. She says people in the community are really struggling.
Here in West Cavan ESB crews continue with the job at hand and that is to re connect every home and farm in this area.
One thing is for sure, lessons will need to be learned and forestry owners will need to so more in this area to prevent anything on this scale ever occurring in the future. ]
