Local mum praises maternity staff at Cavan Hospital

A Co Monaghan mother has praised maternity ward staff at Cavan General Hospital. Baby Naoíse Beggan was the first baby of 2025 to be delivered at Cavan General Hospital on New Year's Day.

The baby girl was delivered at 12.53am yesterday morning to proud parents Shannon Kelly and John Beggan. Speaking to Northern Sound, Shannon said she is "overwhelmed" by the support and well wishes that her family has received since Naoíse was born. The mum-of-two had high praise for staff at the hospital, describing her experience as "very positive" with staff going above and beyond from the moment they arrived.
