A Monaghan mother who is "living a daily nightmare" has met with Justice Minister Helen McEntee today in relation to the abduction of her two sons. The two Irish born children of Monaghan native Mandy Kelly were kidnapped by their Egyptian father while on a family holiday to Egypt on March 11th 2022. A cash demand of €500,000 has been requested by the father in exchange that Mandy can see her two sons.
Speaking to Northern Sound following her meeting with Minister McEntee, Mandy is determined to have her beloved son's returned to her on Irish soil this year. The local mother added that she is hopeful that due to the horrific circumstances surrounding this case that justice will be served once and for all. "I'm grateful to Minister McEntee for giving me the opportunity to finally tell my story and raise key issues for the Irish Government to address. I know my two children will come back to Ireland and I hope and pray that I will be able to ensure that their lives aren't messed up due to this. I hope that even when my boys are back that I can use the experience of this to help others in the future because I swear, I would not wish this on my worst enemy. Grieving children is horrific but grieving children who are alive is even more horrific."
