Minister Heather Humphreys says she is confident that two seats can be achieved for Fine Gael in Cavan and Monaghan.
The outgoing local minister believes that a candidate can get elected in Cavan and in Monaghan for Fine Gael in the upcoming election. Fine Gael has now chosen 78 General Election candidates in 43 constituencies.
Heather Humphreys' departure from politics marks the eighteenth Fine Gael TD out of the 35 currently in the Dáil to have announced they would not be contesting the upcoming general election. Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, T P O'Reilly along with Cllr David Maxwell and Cllr Carmel Brady make up the three candidate strategy for the party in the region.
Minister Heather Humphreys says her party has invested heavily across Cavan and Monaghan and she believes this will be remembered when it comes to election day. Minister Humphreys says she will out day and night to see two TD'S for Fine Gael returned to the 34th Dail.
