A local MEP says farmers need to know what changes they could face under the new CAP deal.
Fine Gael's Colm Markey was speaking as negotiators from the European Parliament and EU governments have failed to reach agreement about the terms of the new policy.
It comes as Ireland's Minister for Agriculture has been called on to come before the Dail, after claims that he was actively working against small Irish farmers.
In the meantime, the EU continues to pay out the old subsidies to Irish farmers, but Midlands Northwest MEP, Colm Markey, says they need to know what's coming so that they can plan their businesses and livelihoods.
