Men across the region are being encouraged to reach out and talk to one another during November.
Movember is the leading charity urging people to take action this month, and open the conversation about mental health and physically checking yourself.
Martin Maguire from Monaghan was diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and decided to join Crocus, where he found others he could talk to about what he was going through.
He says it allowed him to speak to others outside his family circle and he added that it helped with the mental struggles he faced due to the diagnoses. Martin hopes that more young men will start to speak out if they are struggling and he's calling on local employers to encourage the male force within company's across the region to get involved in Movember..
Martin says men are finally beginning to talk and open up, he pointed out that the newest 50 members of Crocus were 27 females and 23 males , back 6 or 7 years ago it was sitting at 90% women and 10% men.
