Richard Truell has been elected Cathaoirleach of the Ballybay-Clones MD.
The Fine Gael councillor succeeds Seamus Coyle, who thanked all councillors and council staff for their work during a difficult and challenging year due to the pandemic.
Hugh McElvaney is Leas Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council, and he was also elected to the position of Leas Cathaoirleach of the Ballybay-Clones MD at yesterday's meeting.
Elsewhere in Co Monaghan, David Maxwell was named Cathaoirleach of the Monaghan MD, taking over the role from Seamus Treanor, who himself was nominated as the new Leas Cathaoirleach of the MD.
Meanwhile, in Co Cavan, Sinn Féin's Paddy McDonald was elected Cathaoirleach of the Bailieborough-Cootehill MD, taking over the position from Val Smith.
Fine Gael's Carmel Brady was named Leas Cathaoirleach of the Bailieborough-Cootehill MD.
