A Carrickmacross councillor has again pledged that the local MD "will do anything we can" to open the Newbaze factory in the town.
The factory was officially opened in November of 2019, but Tánaiste Leo Varadkar says it remains closed because "Chinese approval is still outstanding due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic".
He was responding to a parliamentary question by local TD Niamh Smyth.
Councillor PJ O'Hanlon told a recent Carrickmacross-Castleblayney MD meeting that he had "nothing to do with the correspondence" from the Tánaiste.
He added that "there are other national politicians from all parties working behind the scenes on this."
