A Glaslough man's property appeared on Tuesday night's episode of RTE's Home of the Year and is now through to the final. Viewers got to see inside Peter Carvill's gate lodge which was built in the mid 1700s and is located in Co Tyrone.
Photographer Peter purchased his home in 2022, which is a Grade 2 listed building, and settled on a 'mix of country chic and cottage core' for his interiors - as he felt it "fitted beautifully with the nature that surrounds his home".
Speaking to Northern Sound, the Co Monaghan man said it was always a dream of his to work on a project like this. "Growing up I always wanted to find an old barn and convert it into a beautiful studio to live and work in," he said. "I love making things different and I've always had an interest in old buildings. When the property came up for sale I just thought I had to have it, it was so beautiful and unique which was the most important thing and a place you could really make your own."
