A Cavan native has ran over 175 km from Wales to Cavan in a bid to help the homeless.
Cormac Lewis who is a native of Cavan Town has worked in London for almost 20 years and he wanted to raise money for the homeless in the UK city.
This is not the first time that Cormac has undertook such a mammoth challenge with all funds raised going to the British charity Shelter. Cormac says experiencing people sleeping on the streets in all kinds of weather as he ran to work each morning in London was his inspiration to assist homeless people in anyway he can.
The married dad of two began his run on Saturday morning and kept going through the night, through Shankill and the Fall’s Road, onto Lisburn, Armagh, Keady to Ballybay, Cootehill and finally back to Cavan Town on Sunday morning. Cormac says the support he received was amazing as he approached the finish line in Cavan Town.
