A Monaghan man is being honoured for his role as one of the driving forces behind a local boxing club.
Micky Treanor has been unveiled as a SPAR Community Mentor in recognition of his work with Emyvale Boxing Club.
It's part of the SPAR "Honour Your Mentor" programme which sees ten local community mentor receive €1,000 for their club or community group.

Each awardee was nominated anonymously by a member of their community and Micky's nominee said he "devotes so much time and effort to the club" and added that he makes everyone feel welcome.
Irish Olympic gold medallist Kellie Harrington launched the programme and said Micky is fully deserving of his award.
