Luna Orofiamma is the vice chair for the North West and she feels that involvement in a group or organisation outside your daily interactions at work and home is crucial for young adults and their development.
This follows the publication of a report today by the ESRI which found more than a quarter of young people are reporting symptoms indicative of mental health problems while around 25 percent have reported stress above normal levels.
Luna says the sense of achievement that you get from pushing yourself and participating in new activities is beneficial to your mental health:
