A Monaghan garden designer says there is "much to learn" by attending the Bloom festival in Dublin.
Declan McKenna, of Silver Stream Landscapes, has already had a role to play in a number of winning show gardens and hopes this year's event will be "bigger and better" than ever before.
While the Monaghan man specialises in high-end and handcrafted landscape designs, he says the Bloom Festival which runs until Monday in the Phoenix Park, is "perfect" for those who have little experience and wish to start off small.
From his work, Declan believes people have found a "greater appreciation" for the outdoors since Covid.
He added that the show offers a "huge range" of expert and practical information on everything from gardening, to growing fruit and vegetables and more.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Declan believes there is nothing to lose but everything to gain by growing your own plants and getting "back in touch" with nature.
