A newly appointed Junior Minister says she'd like the VAT rate for hospitality reduced earlier
The incoming government intends to cut the VAT rate to 9% for food-based hospitality, entertainment and hairdressing.
The current rate is 13.5%.
Niamh Smyth is a Cavan-Monaghan TD and a newly appointed Junior Minister in the Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show earlier, she says the VAT rate reduction should be fast tracked to help businesses survive.
