The new IFA Ulster and North Leinster Chair says consumers are willing to pay more for quality Irish products.
Frank Brady’s comments come on the back of the announcement that Lidl will meet with the IFA following a 24-hour protest by poultry farmers outside of Lidl stores in Cavan and Monaghan.
However, the Monaghan native added that Lidl must be “serious” and “sincere” in the meeting.
Frank Brady took up the post of Ulster and North Leinster Regional Chair at the group’s AGM this afternoon in Dublin, and says the Taoiseach’s presence at the AGM shows how importance the farming organisation is.
Speaking to Northern Sound ahead of the AGM, Frank Brady said farmers just want a “margin” that everyone is happy with:
