A local IFA Chairman says marts should remain closed to help protect the most vulnerable farmers.
Marts are currently operating through online platforms only, in line with public health guidelines.
The Regional Chairman for Ulster North Leinster Nigel Renaghan said it's generally older generations who attend the sales ring, and they are most at risk of being made seriously ill by contracting Covid-19.
He told Shannonside Northern Sound he's against the idea of the phased reopening of the economy.
