Cavan and Monaghan General Hospital's has received a largely clean bill of health from HIQA inspectors following the publication of a new report into frontline healthcare services nationwide. The health watchdog’s Overview report of monitoring and regulation of healthcare services between 2021 and 2023, found both hospitals to be outperforming several others across the country.
Cavan General Hospital’s accident and emergency department was found to be either compliant or substantially compliant in three out of four regulatory areas surveyed in the report. The facility received an almost equally glowing appraisal in terms of its various wards and clinical areas that were inspected during an announced inspection by officials.
Out of 11 categories up for inspection, the facility was deemed to be partially compliant in one aspect with a further ten areas found to be compliant or substantially compliant. On a national level, the report found hospitals continue to be challenged to maintain resourcing levels to support the delivery of high-quality healthcare. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Lorraine in her fight against cancer with all proceeds going towards Cuan services. To donate visit https://gofund.me/62e77f75
