Concerns are being raised over the rising number ofh in Dublin, as temperatures are set to plummet over the coming days.
A total of 134 people were found sleeping rough in November, when the official winter count was carried out.
That's a 14 per cent increase compared to last year. Sonya McMahon who runs the 'Help Our Homeless' community group based in Kingscourt along with her family says that number is probably much higher.
The local charity feed homeless people across Dublin 365 days a year and will have extra supplies and teams out over the coming days to try and help keep them warm and alive during this bitter spell.
The charity also assists people living in the Northern Sound region that finds themselves homeless also. Sonya and her family has been helping the homeless for the past five years with the support they receive from people across Cavan and Monaghan. The local woman says this current cold snap is putting pressure on the service that they offer every single day in the capital.
