A local historian says we must commemorate all sides when marking centenaries.
The 100 year anniversary of the Irish War of Independence is the 11th of July, and Johann Farrelly, an author and historian from Mullagh, says significant events like this deserve to be remembered.
He acknowledges that there can be a ‘conflict of interest’ when it comes to commemorating the RIC but there should be an appropriate way to remember both sides.
