Gerry O'Reilly advises students to study in 45 minute blocks and take some time away from their books.

Maintaining routine and incorporating self care will be important for Leaving Cert students in the coming weeks says a local guidance counsellor.

Gerry O'Reilly is the guidance counsellor at St.Macartan's College in Monaghan and he says that even with the difficulties covid posed students have had enough time in school to be able to tackle this year's state exams.

He is advising students to study in 45 minute blocks and if parents notice that students are becoming stressed to encourage a short break and time away from their books.
