A local Green Party representative says Climate Change was not at the top of the electorate's priorities during this election.
The Green Party suffered heavy defeats in the General Election, with leader Roderic O'Gorman now being the only TD returned to the Dáil. Roderic O'Gorman has stated it's highly unlikely the party will be part of the next Government. Eddie O'Gara is a Monaghan based Green Party rep. who ran in the election.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show, he says he's disappointed with the overall result
"If you look locally at any of our new TDs, check their statements after they've been elected and see where does climate come in on their documents and press releases. You'd be hard pushed because I've looked and I haven't seen the word 'climate' mentioned even once from them. So the one item that underpins what we do for the future isn't even mentioned".
