A local GP is warning women to be cautious of 'natural treatments' when easing menopause symptoms.
Monaghan based Doctor, Aideen Brides, says there are a number of medications and lifestyle changes that can be taken to combat the symptoms of the menopause and women should contact their own GP to discuss the options.
She also highlighted that many women do not need to have any treatment and will get through this period of their life without needing medication.
However, for those who do she is urging them to be careful when it comes to what are promoted as 'natural' treatments as they could increase the possibility of womb cancer if not managed properly and with professional consultation:
