A local Doctor says her surgery is ready to vaccinate up to 10 people every 15 minutes once the rollout of the vaccination programme begins.
Monaghan GP Dr Aideen Brides says many GPs are ready to begin vaccinations through their practices even if they'll be offering a different jab than expected.
A lack of data on the vaccines effectiveness of the AstraZeneca product in people in over age groups has led some countries, including Ireland, to recommend it not be given to them.
They'll instead be offered the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines which need to be stored at lower temperatures.
Dr Brides says she expects over-70s to be given the AstraZeneca vaccine in the next six weeks as more data becomes available.
