Gardaí in the Northern Sound region are warning people to be alert to text message scams.
Local gardaí say there have been a number of recent incidents where people have been "conned" by a text purporting to be from An Post regarding a package.
One person received a scam text on Monday of this week, claiming that a package was held up.

The scammer then tried to trick the person into clicking on a link to resolve the issue.
When this scam message was ignored, a further text was sent the next day, with a different link.
Gardaí are urging the public to be vigilant with such texts and to never click on the link and never provide personal information.
