A local Garda has advised people to "think before they click" this Christmas time.
According to Sergeant Mick Duffy, the festive season poses the "perfect opportunity" for criminals to target people in the form of scams sent via email and text message.
Sergeant Duffy warns that with everyone Christmas shopping and ordering parcels, text messages with links will undoubtedly be received by locals.
These phishing targets will ask people to click on the link and complete their personal information to a clone website.
