The new ban on the sale of turf that commenced yesterday will put a local fuels depot out of business.
That's according to the managing director of North Pole Fuels in Cavan.
Tommy Sheehan says Turf and coal is being delivered door to door in Cavan from Northern Ireland.
As of midnight the 30th of October he can no longer sell turf or deliver it to people's homes.
The sale of turf or smoky fuels can no longer be advertised online under the new law that came into force yesterday.
