"Every caution should be taken" when travelling on locals roads tonight and tomorrow morning. That's according to Magheracloone man and national forecaster Gerry Murphy after Met Éireann issued a status yellow weather warning for ice and snow. The Met Éireann forecaster said that rain across the region will turn to sleet and snow in parts of Cavan and Monaghan.
Despite this, Gerry believes that the amount of snow "won't be significant" describing a yellow weather warning as more of a "heads-up" for people. Behind tomorrow's snow temperatures are set to plummet so any snow that does fall with have a tenancy to lie in places. Speaking to Northern Sound, Gerry Murphy warned that as a result of colder temperatures, travel conditions and road visibility will be "poor." As a result, he says "every caution should be taken" as we go through tonight and indeed in the coming nights and mornings as sharp frost is expected.
