Local firefighters are "climbing their Everest" today in support of children's cancer charity Aoibheann's Pink Tie.
Aoibheann's Pink Tie provides practical and financial support available to children suffering from cancer and their families.
Today between 10am and 10pm, 100 firefighters all over the country, including a team from Co Monaghan, are gathering at Nenagh Fire Station in Tipperary to climb the equivalent of Mount Everest - a staggering 29,000 feet.
The challenge is intended to reflect the uphill battle families around Ireland struggle with every day when a child is diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment.
People can donate online at nrfa.ie/donate and there will also be bucket collections at Monaghan Fire Stations.
